Apple Watch Series 3 Compatiable with iPhone 6 iOs 12.4.6

I have just purchased an Apple Watch Series 3, will I be able to pair it to my iPhone 6. The latest update on my iPhone 6 was iOs 12.4.6, after updating it, I was not given the option to update my phone any further. Will I be able to pair my watch and phone?
