My cat walked on my keyboard and now my keyboard is not working

Here are the scenarios:

1. Its an older battery powered, or rechargeable keyboard, Mac or otherwise, and coincidentally the battery reached zero charge
2. It is a third-party keyboard with either a power button, or Bluetooth on/off button that the cat stepped on.
3. The cat relieved itself on your keyboard and the circuit is fried.
