Holidays calendar not showing in macOS Calendar app

https://support.apple.com/en-bh/HT208541 suggests: The Calendar app on your iOS device and Mac features a built-in holiday calendar that’s customized based on the holidays that are most recognized in your country or region...

Anybody knows why the Holidays Calendar is not showing in macOS (and other Apple devices) anymore? - although checked in Calendar->General->Show Holidays Calendar

BTW: Unchecking and checking the Show Holidays Calendar results an automatic unchecking of Show Birthday Calendar...

Updates (15.4.) did not solve the issue. Ohhh - Catalina

Thanks for using Apple Support Communities. It sounds like you’re having trouble with the holiday calendar. I’m happy to help.

With Calendar open, you should be able to select the holiday calendar on the left-hand side under “Other.” If you don’t see this option, click Calendars in the top left corner of the application.

If you don’t have the holiday calendar listed there, I suggest restarting in safe mode and trying in a test user to see if you’re able to view the calendar there:

Thanks for the additional information. The last thing I’d recommend trying is reinstalling macOS.

While reinstalling shouldn’t remove any information from your Mac, it’s a good idea to create a backup first:

To reinstall, follow the steps here:

Thank you Chris for looking into this matter.

Before posting I did already startup in safe mode and created another account on my MacBook.

Unfortunately this neither made the Holidays Calendar appear nor changed the behavior when opening the Calendar app (automatically unchecks the Birthday Calendar)...

Honestly, I think macOS is getting too complex for the developers....

Thank you too for the additional recommendation.

I did erase my MacBooks HDs and "clean" installed the macOS (Catalina) - with no success!

Maybe you know how to install an older OS (f.e. Mojave) which seemed to be working fine (?)

There is not a way to revert back to a specific macOS version. You can use the steps in the article provided in the last response to install the macOS version that came with your Mac. From there, you can upgrade to macOS Mojave using these steps:
