iMovie can no longer export/share to any option

Hi everyone,

As of today, iMovie can no longer share projects. I Have a mid 2014 15'Macbook Pro running 10.11.6 and Imovie 10.1.6. If i try share with Theater, iTunes, File, Facebook, Email etc I receive :

The operation couldn’t be completed. (com.apple.Compressor.CompressorKit.ErrorDomain error -1.)

I have tried with several different videos and projects.

Last time I used iMovie to edit was about 2 weeks ago and I've never had any issues.

Thanks

MacBook Pro 15", OS X 10.11

Hi,

Take a look at this thread and see if it helps you:

Updating the software has fixed the issue for recent posters.

You could also try booting up in Safe Mode (see Finder menu for instructions) and, after everything loads,

immediately shut down and reboot in normal mode. Then see if iMovie works properly.

Hi Rich, thanks for your answer.

I went through the first link and I've seen your comments on other threads.

I did try booting in Safe Mode and reboot in normal mode, it didn't work and couldn't run iMovie on Safe Mode, I received a notice "Safe mode not supported. Safe mode does not support OpendGL hardware which is required to run iMovie. "

I could upgrade to a more recent OS, but somehow recently servers don't seem to work properly here ( China) as a few weeks ago I upgraded El Capitan 10.11.6 to Mojave and it screwed the Mac in many different ways, even Genius Bar struggled to understand and fix the problem. A Genuis employee told me then they also had troubles recently and recommended me not to do online updates. I had to reinstall 10.11.6 from a previous backup. Reason why I've stayed this long on 10.11.6 is because some Apps were not ready yet for OSX upgrade or no longer supported by recent OS.
