Fully downloaded files showing up as Zero KB

I’m trying to download large-ish files (~1GB) in the Safari app

The downloads complete, but when I go to view them in the Files app, they still show up with a .download extension (like say “myfile.exe.download”) and when I view the info of the downloaded files, they say they are “Zero KB” in size

In Safari, they show up as completed as shown below (the kicad files) with their respective file sizes (1.2x GB)

Though in the Files app, they show up like this

Any reason why it would be doing that? I don’t get why Safari would complete the download and list it as completed, yet the Files app can’t see it as a completed download

The problem isn’t that I was trying to open the files, the problem was the downloads show up with a “Zero KB” file size and have a file extension like “filename.exe.download” (meaning a partial download)

I tried downloading one of the files again and it did download successfully this time

This is how the downloaded files should display

I think the issue has something to do with how Safari deals with resuming downloads, with the first downloads, I stopped/paused them at various times and resumed them later

When I tried again, I started the download and let my phone sit until the download completed, which seemed to work

Could pausing/resuming downloads be corrupting the download in some way?

Hey Mikedamirault2,

I see that you're having trouble opening downloaded files on your iPhone via Safari.

It looks like the files you're attempting to open are .exe files. Because .exe files are not supported, you won't be able to open these files types on the device.
