My computer is showing a folder question mark symbol after update the
catalina. No option key combination works. My computer is bricked and apple doesn’t want to honor their mistake! What should I ? I’m had been working form home during the pandemic and now I can’t and I am about to be fired!!! I need my computer back

It shows this icon. Like there’s no startup disk and sometimes it would show a lock with a password line. I looked up and it’s a firmware password. But I don’t remember ever setting one up. I’ve had this computer since 2015.
Drive could be dead.
