Canadian phone but want to add a US sim

Hello,

I have an Iphone XR and live in Canada. I have a Canadian line, but soon will be working for a company from the US but based in Canada. Can i move my Canadian number to the internal SIM then put a US Sim from T-mobile or the like so that i don't have to pack around two phones?
