Audio is not working

I just got this Mid 2013 Macbook air and the audio in not working correctly when I powered on for the first time. When I reboot the computer and pressed d to give me a diagnosis it read there is nothing wrong. I ve attempt a clean install for macOS Catalina and nothing worked. I also reboot the it and pressed the following option+command+r+p upon advise and nothing, but the funny thing is when I started it in safe mode I would hear a short chime but when it all said and done I pressed the volume button I cannot control anything...
