Apple Magic keyboard slow input

Upgraded my macOS to 10.15.4 (was 10.15.3) - and ever since then my magic keyboard has an annoying lag.

takes about half a second for the characters to appear.

My MacBook Pro built in keyboard works just fine, and when I use a lightning cable for the keyboard instead of via bluetooth - it works just fine.

The Magic Trackpad works just fine via bluetooth.

The keyboard is very close to the computer, so it's not a range issue (tried putting the keyboard on top of the computer as well).

Anyone else seeing this?
