Update from OS X El Capitan (10.11.6) to macOS Catalina on MacBook Pro (Retina, 13-inch, Early 2015)

Yesterday, I rebooted my MacBook Pro (Retina, 13-inch, Early 2015) by giving factory reset and reinstalling new OS. After the completion of reboot process, I found OS X El Capitan (10.11.6) on the macbook. As per the information from the apple website, my macbook pro is compatible to get the latest update of macOS Catalina. But when I tried several time to update from the only option in OS X El Capitan (10.11.6) via App Store, I found there is no update pending for my Macbook. Also when I tried to search for macOS Catalina, I found macOS Catalina of 4.90 GB available to download. Afterwards, whenever I tried to start the download process, it didn't start (I waited for even 1 hour to see the starting of the download process). Can you help me out with the update issue from OS X El Capitan (10.11.6) to macOS Catalina?

Thank you in advance!

MacBook Pro 13", OS X 10.11

If you have the installer, reboot into Safe Boot and launch the installer from this environment.

Try a SafeBoot https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT201262

Takes noticeable longer to get to the login screen, does a 5-15 minute disk repair before it fully boots up, and certain system caches get cleared and rebuilt, including dynamic loader cache, etc. Login

If you do not have installer—after you are in safeboot then download it:

https://itunes.apple.com/us/app/macos-catalina/id1466841314?mt=12&l=en-us

tech spec all you need:

General Requirements

  • OS X 10.9 or later
  • 4GB of memory
  • 12.5GB of available storage (OS X El Capitan 10.11.5 or later)*
  • Some features require an Apple ID; terms apply.
  • Some features require a compatible internet service provider; fees may apply.
