If you are shown to be logged in on the Mini, then you never logged out. I suggest you try restarting the computer and see if it recognizes your password. You may need to fix your keychain. See If your Mac keeps asking for the login keychain password - Apple Support.
I’m not signed in. I updated to Catalina and now the Mac wants my password, but says it is incorrect. I have changed my password. When I check to see what devices are logged in from my iPad, it shows the Mac mini.
