Unable to pair Apple Watch with iPhone after OS update

Hi,

I'm unable to pair my Apple Watch 4 with my iPhone 6s after an iOS update to 13.4.1, and have been having the same issues with a replacement Apple Watch 4 as well. In addition, when I try to update to watchOS 6 from my phone, after checking for a software update, I get a message saying "watchOS 5.3.6 -- Your software is up to date." which is clearly the source of problem, because watchOS 5.3.6 is compatible with iOS 12 and not 13.4.1 (source below). I have tried several iterations of resetting, force-restarting, debugging and spending hours on phone calls with Apple advisors even viewing my iPhone screen to get my iPhone to pair with the old or replacement watch or update to watchOS 6, to no avail. I was even told that my iPhone was the problem and I should erase it completely with a factory-reset, which I tried, to obviously no avail. I know that the issue is with the OS compatibility because both my phone and watch were working completely fine before the update. Now after the iOS update to 13.4.1, the watchOS is not working for the Apple Watch 4 anymore, and Apple OS updates cannot be downgraded, so I am stuck. I do not have access to another iPhone to update my watch elsewhere. Does anyone have any ideas on how to install watchOS 6 on the Apple Watch 4 with an iPhone 6s running iOS 13.4.1? Any help would be much appreciated as I have been struggling with this issue for 10 days since I updated my iOS, and everything was just fine before that!!!

I also have the same problem, tried the solution from fieryjack but it didn’t work. I am using iphone 7 plus and apple watch series 1 and updated to latest software ios 13.5.1 and watch OS updated to watch os 5.3.7. Before the upgrade everything was absolutely fine . Any other solution if worked in this kind of scenarios.

@ fieryjack

I have a AW series 2, I have had the message on my Iphone X to update my Watch Os since almost a month age. I did it....had the same problem which didn't connect to internet. after repeating the procedure to update, it finally did update but to 5.3.7!!! (it took more than 8 hours).

now it doesn't pair with the iphone X using 13.4 Os.

I tried the mentioned procedure......got the same result.

what is the solution?

This is becoming a bigger problem every day especially with 1st generation watches,ios13 doesn't seem to like watches with watchos5 or below,here is one proven solution from another forum;

I found a friend, who was on iOS 12 and used his iPhone to pair. Before pairing it asked to upgrade the watch OS (iOS 13 didn't offer this option). After I upgraded the watchos I unpaired the watch from the ios12 phone and then was able to pair it with any iPhone running iOS 13.

I tried this myself with an old watch and phone that I have and can confirm that it works 100%.

Thanks. I think you are right. Had this issue when I first bought my Apple Watch 6 months ago and had a 6s iPhone. They sent me a box and I sent the Watch back to them and they put in anew OS. Sent it back. That was fine for 6 months til I got the new iPhone SE 2020 last week with a OS of 13 and something. So here we go again. I am sending it back to them. The watch has a lot of warranties on it, so at no cost to me. I hope this helps. Thanks for your information!
