Apple Magic Keyboard w/out a USB-C cable included?

I just got a brand new Apple Magic Keyboard (w/ 10 key) in Space Grey. In the box was a lightning to USB charging cable. I am scratching my head as to why it is a USB and not a USB-C. My MacBook pro has ONLY USB-C ports. My newest wall adapter (from iPhone 11pro) is also only USB-C.

I am genuine curious on the logic here, but more importantly wondering if I somehow ordered the wrong version and could have opted for one that includes USB-C cable.

No, you didn’t order the wrong one. There is no choice.

We don’t know why Apple does something and are not allowed to speculate here. If you believe it’s time for Apple to start including USB-C cables, let them know.
