macOS Catalina 10.15.4 update bricked my MacBook Pro

The 10.15.4 update bricked my MacBook Pro (15 inch, 2018). No power, no nothing...

Tried all keyboard tricks possible.

Had to install Apple Configurator 2 on my Mac Mini, connected both with a USB-USB C cable and restored through DFU and the MacBook started responding! I'm now reinstalling the OS.

Catalina software update I did the 10.15.7 Catalina software update on my MacBook Pro and it’s being weird. It went to the black update screen with the Apple logo and a 29-minute timer, then after about 30-seconds, the computer rebooted itself several times. Then it started the countdown over again. It seemed to work fine after that. But then it got stuck on the last part at “less than a minute remaining.” I waited for nearly 5 minutes and then tried to boot up in safe mode but it wouldn’t work. It just booted up in what looked like my old Mojave screen. So I logged in and tried to see what would happen, and it restarted the entire Catalina software update. So now it’s back to that again. Can anyone advise on what might be happening or what to do?

iMac bricked. iMac bricked during upgrade to Catalina due to power outage. Did anyone face a similar problem? It is a wireless keyboard and mouse thing.

macOS Catalina 10.15.17 supplemental updated released 11/5/2020 bricked my 27" late 2013 iMac! After my iMac automatically updated 9 days ago I had a week of technology hell! first sign of trouble was seeing a black screen with a no entry sign. a shut down and start up felt like things are okay then infinite beachball spins started repeatedly. Then back to the black screen with the "do not enter" sign. A few disc repairs and no luck. a recovery and reinstall and it works for a day and then the updated installs again and back to square zero. A clean install of Catalina with formatted hard disk and still no luck. I did a Mojave clean install and the issue resolved. It eventually dawned on me that this is probably related to the supplemental update and another clean install of Catalina, turn off automatic update and no issues. Luckily I had everything backed up on a time capsule. My 2016 power book pro took the updated no issues and now it is running Big Sur. Big Sur is not compatible with my 2013 iMac. So Catalina it is. How can I get apple to fix the supplemental updated so it doesn't brick my iMac again?
