What kind of adaptor do I need to connect an iPad Air to an Ethernet cable?

Kinda pricey. I don't need the power (and I don't know if I have a power-over-the-ethernet enabled jack). Is there a less expensive adapter? This is really a temporary fix during the current lockdown... Thank you!

The usual and most common choice here is a Wi-Fi router, or a Wi-Fi Access Point, depending on the local network and the local requirements. Do you have particular application requirements involved here, beyond the physical connection?

This will work with a third generation iPad Air.
