requiring password to print

I recently purchased an open box MacBook Air. I am trying to print some homework of the schools website to my home printer connected by usb, and the computer won't print, either printing one blank page from the website directly, or if trying to print from the pdf I created it says it needs the proper password. I have never had it password protected, the professors rather like you to print things off to make notes on them. Any suggestions? I haven't found any applicable yet.

Back up your contents one or preferably twice, either using Time Machine to spare external storage, or boot and use Recovery to clone the internal storage out to a spare external storage device. This will be the source to migrate in your files and documents...

Then follow the erase-and-reinstall sequence:

If you didn’t go through the “welcome to Mac” sequence when you first acquired and started up this Mac, then it’s likely still associated with the previous owner’s Apple ID. Which will make it impossible to upgrade any of that. Can alos mean the precious owner might still have the ability to control this Mac, too.
