Network for Apple TV 2nd is not matched with my metwork

How to make my App TV work when I’m getting a msg that it’s not compatible I have been using for 4-5 years. I must have accidentally changed something My Apple TV is not showing as one of my devices? Been using the remote icon on my iphone8?

The iPhone has to use the Apple TV Remote app to remotely control an Apple TV (2nd generation). The Apple TV Remote widget in Control Center is not compatible with that model.


They also have to be on the same home network. Did you make changes to the network configuration and/or router? Are both connected through Wi-Fi? Using the exact same SSID network name?
