Just adding to the list. Here is another way: Click on the USB icon, and use the keyboard shortcut (command+I). When the "Info" window opens, go to "Name & Extension:"...and type in the desired name.
The other option is to right-click the device in the finder, then choose "Rename" from the resulting contextual menu:
I always use the method Ferd II presents, but it can be a little confusing to newer users. You have to single-click once to highlight the name:
then wait a second to single-click again to make the name editable:
If the second click is too fast, the USB device will open instead of offering the edit option. I've used Macs since 1989 and still occasionally do the second click too quickly.
Try both and see what fits your needs.

A webcam is not a file/folder or drive— you are not going to change the name/make of your webcam.

Click on the USB device name in the Finder, type the desired name, and press the return key.
