iPhone Message App Disappeared

So my wife's iPhone 7 Plus for whatever reason deleted or "misplaced" the standard green iPhone Message App Icon. When I search on the phone for "Message" is shows the green Message Icon and the Facebook Messenger Icon in <Applications>. I can access it from there, but cannot move it back to the home screen. The Facebook Messenger App is actually in a <Social> folder I created on the phone to organize various apps. However the "Message" icon is not in the <Social> folder. It's very perplexing, and I'm not necessarily tech UN-savvy. 🤨 Not a genius by any means, but I do know my way around a bit with iPhones, computers, technical stuff.

We'd like to have the Message App Icon back on the home screen at the bottom where it has always been. Any ideas and help would be greatly appreciated. 😊

Thank you!

iPhone 7 Plus

You may have restricted it so try checking on Settings > General > Restrictions and make sure that Safari is not disabled.

You can also Reset the Home screen layout which will return Safari to the home screen as long as it isn’t restricted. When you do this, it returns the home screen to out of the box condition and it will destroy any folders you had on the home screen. Settings > General > Reset > Reset Home screen layout.
