Apple notes table content bug

Hi everyone!

After updating to iOS 13, I had a problem:

When creating tables in apple notes, if you set a password on them, then with a large amount of data there is a problem with synchronization. On devices with iOS, you can see by the text highlighted every second how notes try to synchronize all data. At the same time, typing on iOS devices from the moment of synchronization occurs with terrible lags. In addition there is a bug with changing the size of the text. Periodically, unsuccessful synchronization may occur, and all data in the tables will disappear.

I chose synchronization only through icloud. I logged out and logged in to my icloud account. Nothing helps. I have already lost my important data irrevocably several times. I cannot fully use notes. I have been observing this bug since the update on iOS 13.3.1

At the same time, if I don’t set a password, then the tables work perfectly

My devices iPhone 6s, iPad Pro 10,5 , MacBook Pro 13’ 2016, and all of them have this bug. All devices have the latest software version 13.4.1 and 10.15.4

Hello sarah_s1,

I made 4 samples of tables on each devices

The problem appears when I create a note on one device, lock it, and then edit it on another

I made screen recording https://www.dropbox.com/s/4d7k6qom1thbwcj/material.zip?dl=0

  1. Here you can see how the bug is changing the font size
  2. This is how notes look on an iPhone
  3. Lags are visible here when I type on my laptop
  4. Locked notes not showing in iCloud

5-6 demonstration of bug and its removal by unlock notes on my iPad

7 during testing, one of the notes disappeared

Hello HarryProblem,

Welcome to the Apple Support Communities! Being able to rely on Notes synchronization is important, and I'm happy to see how I can help.

As I understand it, the issue seems to only occur with password-protect notes that include a table. Is that right?

Knowing that you've updated and have tried signing out and in is helpful.

To verify, does this happen with notes created on a specific device, or does it happen with notes created from any of the devices you listed?

Also, as a way of testing, try creating a brand new password-protected note with a table. Then, log in to iCloud.com from a web browser on your computer. How does it look there? Knowing this may help in narrowing things down.

Cheers.

Hello HarryProblem,

We appreciate you replying back with those additional details! By any chance, are you syncing notes using any third-party services along with iCloud? On your iPhone, you can check by tapping Settings > Passwords & Accounts, and then checking to see if any of your accounts have notes syncing enabled.

If there are no other accounts syncing notes, I recommend using this link to Contact Apple Support to look into this issue further.

Best wishes.
