FireWire to USB-C

Wanted to add to older post but can’t. Cant get a web cam now due to demand, so dug around found old iSight cam from 2004 or so.

Connected its 400 fw plug to a 3rd party adapter to get 800 fw interface, plugged that into Apple 800 fw to Thunderbolt, plugged that into Apple Thunderbolt to USB-C, plugged that into my MacMini, and guess what - it works!

This thread in MacMini forum on Apple discussion forum. I would think that this is pretty clear as I talked physical type throughout....

I have learned over the years, one needs to usually be very specific

Not trying to be antagonistic, just relaying my experiences on the

Apple Communities and how often items are misinterpreted. Just

food for thought in future posts and to that end.

You were also not explicit when you stated "Apple Thunderbolt to USB-C"

adapter which technically does not exist. It is a

"Thunderbolt 3 (USB-C) to Thunderbolt 2" adapter.

Generally the whole USB-C universal connector concept is

a great idea but has been rolled out in a very confusing

manner industry wide.
