I got two adapters Thunderbolt 3 (USB-C) to Thunderbolt 2 Adapter and Apple Thunderbolt to FireWire Adapter) and a FireWire 800 9-pin to 400 4-pin cable to connect a DV camcorder:

Actually you would be better off replacing that old FireWire 400 Solo.
To connect the FireWire 400 Solo to your new Mac Mini, you will need 3 adapters.

Yea' those are the same Apple adapters that I posted above. Only differences is, that the OP needs a FireWire 800 to 400 adapter or cable to plug in the Solo.
What worries me more, is getting Solo Driver updates for latest macOS's.
