How to connect IEEE 1394 to Thunderbolt 3 usb

Recently purchased a mac mini (Thunderbolt 3 usb-c port) and need to connect the firewire solo (IEEE 1394 port)

Actually you would be better off replacing that old FireWire 400 Solo.


To connect the FireWire 400 Solo to your new Mac Mini, you will need 3 adapters.


a USB-C to Thunderbolt adapter,

a Thunderbolt 2 to FireWire 800 adapter,

Then hope the hodgepodge of adapters works and that there are Solo drivers for the latest macOS.
