The Finder window View Menu shows "Show Sidebar" greyed out. It used to show it the Sidebar. The Sidebar does come up when I click on an external drive to view its contents. Also, when using "Save As" in an application, the Sidebar does come up.
Mac mini 2018 or later
Make sure to "Show Toolbar"
You can't have Sidebar without Toolbar.

Thanks. I read all the help info I could find and it didn't mention that aspect of Sidebar. Thanks for the prompt reply.
