Zoom Application Not Detecting Camera/Microphone

When trying to the Zoom Application it request to be enabled in security and privacy but do not appear in the preferences to be allowed.

Things I have tried:

Re-installing application (Multiple times)

Updating application and Operating System

Disabling Firewall and Security (Just in case its blocking)

Tried using browser to request camera by using the zoom web portal(still request system preferences)


Things I Know:

Camera and Microphone Work (Testing using Photobooth)



(Picture showing zooms request to use microphone and camera, clicked on change preferences)


(After clicking preference the zoom application does not show under camera or microphone)

I have exactly the same problem on my iPad. I have the same problem with Skype as well.

What I found the solution for this problem is to do the following:

  1. Un-install zoom application
  2. Restart computer
  3. Create a new user with admin privileges
  4. Login to new account
  5. Install Zoom application
  6. When prompted for admin credentials please input new user admin credentials
  7. Solved!


The issue is with some sort of corruption to the users profile and creating a new user solves this issue.
