Vizio TV not displaying computer desktop when connected through HDMI

Hello, I just acquired a new 26" Vizio TV, Model Number: VA26LHDTV10T. I've been trying relentlessly to connect it as a double monitor setup to my new Macbook Pro, but it will not work no matter what I try. I am using a brand new Phillips USB-C to HDMI adapter that supports up to 4K video with HDMI 2.0. I have tried using multiple HDMI cables, which I know are functional, none have solved the problem. The HDMI ports on the TV definitely work: I connected an Apple TV console to the monitor and played a show to test it, this worked great. It doesn't seem like the issue is on my computer's end because I also used the same adapter and HDMI cable to connect my laptop to a different Vizio TV. This connection also worked perfectly.

I have no clue why the display will not show up on this TV. I have tried holding the option key while in the Displays tab under settings and forcing it to "Detect Displays," this did not work. I also tried rebooting the computer and immediately shutting the laptop. This will occasionally begin to work. It shows the black screen with white apple logo and loading bar, but the loading bar then goes to about 2/3 of the way and stops, and the screen cuts out to reverts back to No Signal.

Please, If you have any suggestions I would appreciate them. I do not want to have to get rid of this Tv and there is seemingly no reason it should not connect correctly. Thank you
