I recently got a bluetooth keyboard and mouse from Microsoft because I have a Surface as my work computer. I was wondering, is it possible to connect them to my Macbook Air? I can't get my mac to recognize the them in the bluetooth preferences window.

They may be seen by BT but they may not work. They were not designed to be used with Mac computers. They were designed specifically to use with the Surface. All you can do is try. Thus far, they don't seem to even connect to the Mac. See Using a Bluetooth mouse, keyboard, or trackpad with your Mac for help with pairing.
