Finder keeps popping up on iMac

The finder window keeps popping open on my iMac. [I have tried rebooting.] I opened console.app and the log window and found the following string. Parts of this keep repeating, so perhaps this could ID the problem. Can anyone tell me how to fix this? I'm not an IT person. Thank you very much.

Please reset the NVRAM and then restart in Safe Mode, instruction links are right below. If these resets do not help, then please post an EtreCheck report.

The NVRAM reset seems to have fixed the same problem on my old MacBook Pro too. Definitely one to keep in the bag of tricks. My bet is that once they get some age on them, problems like this only get more common, and I can probably squeeze a little more life out of this hardware with tips like this. Won't fix everything, but it's another thing to try when things go sideways. Thanks!
