webcam compatibility?

I am new to the subject of webcams. From what I see online, the Logitech models seem to be the most attractive in features and price. But the Logitech models I am looking at draw a distinction in their compatibility to different operating systems. Here is a typical description:

Compatible with: Windows 10 or later, Windows 8, Windows 7, Works in USB Video Device Class (UVC) mode with supported video calling clients: MacOS 10.10 or later, Chrome OS, Android v 5.0 or above.

Right now I am interested in webcams for business purposes. So far I have used only Zoom and FaceBook for videoconferencing (on a different computer.) AFAIK the Logitech devices work well with Zoom.

Is there, though, something one might be able to do in Windows with a Logitech webcam that one cannot do in Mac?

Mac mini, macOS 10.15

The Windows software will allow a Logitech C920 to zoom at 1080p, but that zoom is not available in macOS. This camera works with Catalina and Windows 10 1909 as have tested on both here. The C920 is also supported for FaceTime and Skype.

Not Zoom, in reference to the security challenged service. Zoom as to zoom the camera for closeups. This webcam makes images brighter too.

The logitech C920 has worked with every release of OS X and macOS on a 2011 Mac mini, my Late 2013 27 inch iMac, or a 2014 MacBook Air through Catalina on the iMac and MacBook Air. I would suspect someone on Craig's list that says the C920 did not work with their Mac. It has been used for FaceTIme, and until I kicked Skype to the curb, that too. I have not, and will never use the Zoom conferencing service.

You could walk into Best Buy and snag a C920 for $50. At that price, I would not risk purchasing from Craig's list anyway.

When you say, "zoom," do you mean work with the service Zoom? Or to move the focus of the camera in and out to different distances? I have not seen anything online about the latter ability.

(I ask these questions because on my local Craigslist someone is advertising a C920. He says it does not work with his Macintosh.)
