Thanks for posting. Being able to use your microphone is important, and I understand you might have an issue using the microphone on your Mac. I'd like to get a little information about what's happening to see how I can help.
For clarification, when you say your mic works perfectly, are you saying it works for some apps but the two apps you mentioned?
It sounds like you might have already tried checking System Preferences > Sound > Input. Which input device do you have selected there? Also, if you turn the Input volume slider all the way up and try speaking, do the level bars move accordingly?
It might also help to check System Preferences > Security & Privacy > Privacy > Microphone. Do the apps you mentioned appear in this list? Make sure the boxes are checked for the apps in question.
Depending on how all of the above goes, you might next want to check this in a newly-created administrator account. This would tell you if the issue is system-wide or user-specific, which may help to identify possible causes: How to test an issue in another user account on your Mac
