one of two external monitors stops working after a while

I use two external monitors connected through a Startech dock. Sometimes, after I plug out and plug in my laptop, one of the monitors stops working. It seems not to get a signal anymore.


Only when I reboot my laptop all is fine again.


So I assume this is an OS X issue. Also this only started around the time I updated OS X to 10.15.4


Does anyone else experience the same issue?

Is there a fix I can implement?

I seem to have found the solution.


One of my monitors (the one that constantly went blank) had DP 1.2 turned on (from an attempt to daisy chain the monitors).


After I turned off DP 1.2 all seems to be good now.


(It's a Dell U2715H)
