Issues with Macbook Pro 2020 connecting to docking station or external monitors

My brand new Macbook Pro 2020 freezes when I attempt to connect to a Caldigit TS3 Plus. I cannot move the mouse, and it is totally unresponsive, despite installing all the recommended drivers for the docking hub. I have read that there are many problems with the new Macbook when it comes to hooking them up to docking stations or external monitors. CalDigit says it's an issue with the Mac. What may work? Does anyone have experience connected two external monitors with a new macbook pro (4 thunderbolt ports)?

Is your Mac a 2020? I've read a lot about particular issues with the new Macbook Pro and a variety of hubs.

I have usually use a 2017 15" MBP with the dock (that's my work Mac), but my personal 2019 16" MBP and my wife's 2020 13" MBP (4 TB3 port model) work fine with it.
