How to play a BDMV file using my external Bluray Player on macOS High Sierra?

My 2011 iMac does not play BlueRay Disks so purchased a new slim Qumox which plays BD of old style VOB files but cannot run/play BDMV format files? Two inter-related queries:

  1. Are there any Apple generic solution for this problem?
  2. Are there more BD formats used for common 'blue ray' Disks that I should consider before installing any patch software onto my macOS High Sierra?

You may want to reach out to www.macsales.com they provide multiple BlueRay solutions that will work with Mac OS. As Apple does not natively support BlueRay (it NEVER has) if you want to use your Mac for BlueRay it is up to you to do the research on how to get it to work. I'd call Macsales and talk with one of their reps about what you would like to do and they will help point you to the app(s) you will need to fulfill your needs.

Best of luck.

What add did you get? Can you provide a screenshot of it?

I rather not to use this ANSWER unless someone ensures me why this abuse of Apple Community and how get rid of the this annoying ADD!

Are you seeing the add on other sites? If so download and run the free version of Malwarebytes. It was developed by a long time contributor to these forums and a highly respected member of the computer security community.

Also download and run Etrecheck. Etrecheck is a diagnostic tool that was developed by one of the most respected users here in the ASC and recommended by Apple Support  to provide a snapshot of the system and help identify the more obvious culprits that can adversely affect a Mac's performance.

Copy the report

and use the Add Text button to include the report in your reply. How to use the Add Text Feature When Posting Large Amounts of Text, i.e. an Etrecheck Report

IMPORTANT:

Before running Etrecheck assign Full Disk Access to Etrecheck in the app's Privacy preference pane so that it can get additional information from the Console and log files for the report:

ALSO IMPORTANT:

Then we can examine the report and see if we can determine the root of the problem.

Apple has never and is not likely to ever natively support BlueRay.

If your Qumox player supports BlueRay, then you will need third party software like the ones listed in the bottom of the following TechGuide article in order to play BlueRay media.
