How can I select multiple-word phrases in Pages?

In Word for Mac, you could select multiple words and reformat them all at once. You would select a word or phrases, then hold the command key and drag the cursor on subsequent selections until you had them all, then you could reformat all those selections at the same time, the same way. What is the equivalent command in Pages?

That is correct. No non-contiguous text selection.

Apple doesn't care, because they are not competing with any third-party word processing application. Pages is really intended for consumers requiring minimal word processing features — and who don't realize there are much better WP solutions out there for minimal to moderate money.

I use Pages every day. When I need proper layout I use Affinity Publisher, and for more serious writing, I stay current with LibreOffice, or maybe even MacTeX.
