Audio Speaker iPhone XR

Hi. Since i read that the iPhone XR is water resistant, i didn't think it was a problem to wash it a little bit on the sink. Also, my dad told me he does it too and has no problem with it.

But every time i do it, the audio speaker cracks and the sound is not as clean as it usually is/should be. It goes away after like three days, but it's still annoying. Even if i only wash it for a maximum of ten seconds, it still messes up the audio. And since my dad and lots of people i know do it too but don't have issues, i was wondering if there's something wrong with my phone only and have to change it/repair it. Thank you Xx
