iPad continuously makes charging sound when plugged in

Hi, my ipad all of a sudden keeps on making the charging sound even though it’s plugged in. It only charges if I leave it in a certain position and do not touch it. I’ve tried many different chargers, and plug sockets but nothing really makes a difference.
