Watchdog Timeout

I'm having issues, on two different macs now, with my computer freezing then restarting and showing the screen of death about my computer restarting because of an issue. When I sign back in I can report the following error code to apple. One computer is a 2017 Macbook Pro, the other a 2015 iMac. Both up to date on software.

Below it the first part of the error code:

panic(cpu 1 caller 0xffffff7f8284fa8d): watchdog timeout: no checkins from watchdogd in 98 seconds (2135 total checkins since monitoring last enabled)

Hi, designerchick1529,

I understand from your post that you are having an issue with two Mac computers unexpectedly shutting down/restarting on their own, and display an error when they start up again. I'm happy to help!

Based on what you've described, it sounds like the computers are dealing with kernel panics. These can be addressed using the steps in If your Mac restarted because of a problem - Apple Support.

If you go through those steps and still need help, you will need to speak to Apple Support directly next. You can do that by reaching out here: Contact Apple Support.

Have a wonderful day.
