silence mode on iphone 6s

w do you not silence the phone when it is locked. I settings/do not disturb, the only choices for silence: "always" or "only while iphone is locked". How do you keep the silent feature off when the phone is locked.

Those options only apply when "Do No Disturb" is turned on.

If you keep "Do not Disturb" off, then the silence options are not applied, and as such your phone will not be silenced when locked. Calls will ring.
