So, since that didn't work, let me explain. While you may be having problems copying and pasting, it is not the result of any conspiracy to prevent you from expressing yourself online.

This totally fixed my problem- which was just cutting/pasting while composing a text...it was driving me crazy! I was holding my finger down on the text and getting nothing!! I tried what you said and just tapped it- Voila! Success! Thank you!!!

It’s hard in this day and age to notice sarcasm or not. Because I was also being sarcastic.. I felt you were summing me up to be some sort of conspiracy theorist and I’m not. That’s why I came back with my remark.

Right. You just believe "They are wanting to be in control of what is shared". Who is "they"?

Actually... this simple solution is exactly it. At least, with my iPhone… problem solved!

The only thing that kind of bothers me... nowhere in the instructions/literature that came with my new iPhone, did Apple bother to mention this anywhere. Being that we Apple customers have been using the same cut & paste technique with their products for DECADES (i.e. hold finger/curser over target area for several seconds, and the cut/paste icon well pop up), it would have been nice of them to have mentioned that they had changed it.

I agree. I really think Apple wants to change things just because they can...they have us hooked no matter what, unless we want to change everything we've invested in over the last decade and start over with Samsung or something else

I had a typo --> Amazon maybe disabled copy the paste...

I don't think this is the issue as mentioned, I am still able to use my 6 to copy/paste.

I have this problem. My phone will not copy an original post on Facebook. But if I ask my friends to copy and paste it into the comments my iPhone will copy it then. It’s very frustrating!

I never use amazon. Mostly for me it’s in my own texts, or texts to me. Never had any issue with anything extra.

Me too! I've tried reinstalling Facebook but that didn't work. I really need that for work!

Same problem with the Facebook app. I had no problem when I have iPhone 5S. I have the new iPhone SE and it hasn't been good, the maps App is also not much improved and I am disappointed.

Also Amazon app, same story, super inconvenient.
