Which type of Apple TV should I get? (Requirements: Peloton App, Streaming Apps & Screen Mirroring)

Hi there! I am currently debating which Apple TV I should get - HD or 4K?

Here is what I will be using it for predominantly:

  • The Peloton App
  • Streaming Apps like Netflix
  • Screen mirroring from my MacBook Pro to watch movies streamed from the internet

Do you have a 4K TV, or plans for that? Then the Apple TV 4K seems the matching choice.

The Peloton app currently has no version for Apple TV.

I don't at the moment but maybe in the future.

When I use the peloton app from my iPhone, when I'm watching the video, in the corner there is a button and when I click on it it says:

Cast To:

Chromecase

Airplay

And it lets me click on either chromecase or airplay. So I had assumed that airplay meant connecting it to Apple TV?

If you have plans to. upgrade to a 4K TV anytime in the foreseeable future then it's smart to buy a 4K Apple TV. That is exactly what I did a few years ago. I still had a 1080p TV but knew I would be upgrading at some point, I got the 4K TV and used with my 1080 p TV just fine. When I did buy a new 4K TV then I could begin enjoying 4K content.
