Texts from a contact in my iPhone 11 are showing as being from ‘infomessage’ (not the contact) and I can only read them and not not reply (send fails). I have deleted and re added the contact, they have deleted and re added me as a contact but their texts still coming to me as being from infomessage
please advise.

It would be better if you can please re-post with a screenshot, in order to understand the phenomenon better. Images / pictures speak louder than words. (Do not provide any personal credentials, such as email id, apple id, IMEI number, Serial Number, Phone number etc)
This is probably getting triggered from a third party app that you may have downloaded on your device.
