iPhone Xs internet connection

My iPhone Xs will not connect to the internet. It looks like it's connected to the wi-fi. I've tried resetting the network, soft reboot, etc. Still no connection. All other devices are working fine.

iPhone 5c, iOS 10

Thank you for using Apple Support Communities! It sounds like your iPhone XS is showing connected to Wi-Fi, however you don't have access to the internet. You've come to the right place for help.


Is this happening with a specific Wi-Fi network or any Wi-Fi network you try to connect to? If you have not yet had a chance to, I'd like to have you try connecting the iPhone to a different Wi-Fi network to see if you can replicate the issue. If you currently have VPN or security software installed on the iPhone, test after temporarily uninstalling that as well.


If you've noticed the issue is only occurring when you connect the iPhone to a specific Wi-Fi network, I'd like to have you go to Settings > Wi-Fi, then tap the "i" next to the network name on your iPhone. Do you see one of the IP address ranges listed below?

  • "Private networks (this automatically includes all non-routable IP address ranges like 10.0.0.0/8, 172.16.0.0/12, 192.168.0.0/16, 169.254.0.0/12)"


Let us know what you find and we'll go from there.
