Emails not showing on my iPad

My question is actually for my husband he has an iPhone 11 and a iPad and for some reason he has stopped seeing his emails on his iPad, his iPhone shows he has 19 emails but his iPad is showing nothing? What has he done to cause this error?

Who set the devices up for you? To be honest, the solution that QuickPost gave is the better one considering your comments. Go into Settings>Passwords & Accounts> select the account he is experiencing difficulty with, and click on Delete Account. Then go back and click on Add Account, and put in the information for that account to add it again. Of course, at this point, you would need to know the username and password for the account. If you have troubles with that, you need to contact your email provider.
