No sweat, jerneee. Usually support for it is built into the OS, so I'm guessing it's a USB printer then just plug it in to the USB socket on your 2017 iMac. You'll also have to go to brother.com and download the appropriate software for your printer. For your convenience, I've enclosed a link to the web page for that :
