iPod Touch / iTunes / NEW iPhone 11

Ok, here's the problem. I have had a iPod Touch for like over a decade or close to it, it's either a 3rd or 4th generation, and I've used iTunes (currently version 12.10.6.2) on my computer to interface with it - back up my music, and pictures, and apps, etc. - but now I've bought a brand new iPhone 11 (as well as associated this phone with a new email address and all - different from the iPod Touch. So, with that background info here are the questions:

1) Should I hook my iPhone 11 - via the USB-C-to-Lightning cable - to connect to iTunes?

2) If doing so, can I move my music, from iTunes (used for my iPod Touch) to the NEW iPhone 11?

3) Can I move JUST the music, from iTunes (used for my iPod Touch) to the NEW iPhone 11, and not move anything else - like apps?

4) If I can move the music, How do I do that? As in a Step-by-Step instruction that your Great-Grand Father would be able to follow.

Thanks

Mark

In order:

  1. Yes, you can use the cable that comes in the box with your iPhone or any other USB or USB Type-C to Lightning cable to connect your iPhone to your PC.
  2. Yes, you can sync your music to your iPhone just like you would with an iPod.
  3. Yes, you can sync music only if you choose. You can also sync movies, TV shows, podcasts, audiobooks, photos, videos, contacts, and calendars if you so choose. You can't sync apps with iTunes anymore.
  4. Syncing music between your PC and iPhone is easy. Apple has a step-by-step guide here: Use iTunes to sync your iPhone, iPad, or iPod with your computer - Apple Support

If you're an Apple Music or iTunes Match subscriber, you can sync your music automatically between your PC and your iPhone. You can learn more about that here: Turn on Sync Library with Apple Music - Apple Support

If you purchased your music through iTunes, you can redownload your music for no additional cost right from your iPhone without having to sync. You can learn how to do this here: Redownload apps, music, movies, TV shows, and books - Apple Support

Thanks that's actually working. I am not an Apple Music / iTunes subscriber, nor was the music purchased via iTunes (many of the albums I had on there are and have been unavailable on iTunes). These are all from CDs I've collected over the years, or CDs I've purchased to replace copies of the Cassette, 8-Track, or Long Play Albums, totaling over 700 hours worth of music. So, I did not want to lose this. Thanks for the help.
