I just showed the portion of the window that seemed relevant, where the change was visible. I have since deleted the track and moved on because it's actually a scratch track just to give the bass player something to listen to so he can record his track before I send all of that to the drummer. This what we are doing in our quarantine mode.
But to answer your question about the output channel strip, it's something I use a lot actually. My projects are pretty fluid and get revised a lot especially now doing distributed recording. And I use the output track for checking loudness ( lufs) levels and tweaking final compression and EQ, reverb, and such before I do a bounce. And I usually do several to listen to and share with the rest of the band to get their feedback. As I understand it the output track is actually the output of the interface, a Motu 828x in this case. Whereas the master output is the actual output of the DAW and I don't know of any way to apply those final touches to that track. Is there a better way?
That drum track didn't start out looking like that. It looked like a completely normal drummer track, showing as the channel strip setting Slow Jam(Rose). Notice also all the items below loop and transpose in the Regions area that are missing. Things like quantize, and flex and follow. Just weird. But what would the output track have to do with the drummer?
