Following the excellent advice on the subject of ejecting a stuck CD in my Super Slim USB2.0 DVDRW I managed to eject the disk.
BUT my MacBook Air doesn’t register the presence of the device and I can’t read or write anything, though if it ejected the stuck CD it must know it’s there.
Can anyone help please?

From comments made by other purchasers of this device, it's basically rubbish, that's the problem.
I might try a different, reputable brand instead.

I've bought an Apple SuperDrive a few years ago. And it works flawlessly on both my 2014 Mac mini and 2017 MacBook Air :)
