Cd drive

My MacBook Pro won’t tecognize a cd disc when inserted. It spins a couple of times then ejects

The CD may be dirty or damaged


The optical drive may have a dirty lens, or the optical drive may be bad.


Some optical drives may require two USB connectors in order to supply enough power to the drive. You should also try connecting the optical drive directly to the Mac. If the optical drive is connected directly to the Mac, then you may want to try connecting the optical drive to a powered USB hub instead as the powered hub may be able to supply a bit more power to the optical drive.


If you are using a Apple Super Drive, then it needs to be connected directly to the Mac or it won't work.
