IOS Apple Music Bluetooth Issue

I recently purchased bluetooth bookshelf speakers (Klipsch R-14PM) to play Apple Music off of my iPhone XR. When I play my music on Apple Music, the music plays through the speakers just fine. Once I change a few songs or choose to skip a few songs in a row, no audio comes out of the speaker, even though my iPhone shows the music still playing. The only way to get audio to come out of the speaker again is to pause the song, and press play.

On IOS 12.2, I do not have this issue. I also tested to see if this would happen with Spotify, and it did not. I have restarted my phone, played the music downloaded, streamed the music, and factory reset the speakers. Hopefully Apple’s Engineers fix this issue. I am considering switching to Spotify soon, if not.

If anyone else knows how to fix this issue, please let me know.

Hello njpad,

Welcome to the Apple Support Communities! As I understand it, when you skip songs or change the upcoming songs in the queue, your music stops and you have to press Play again to start back up. I'd want to make sure I was able to play music as expected as well, and I'm happy to assist.

Knowing that you've tested other apps is helpful. It sounds like you've done some good troubleshooting already. For clarification, it sounds like you tested another device running iOS 12.2, and you don't see the same issue. Which exact iOS version are you running on the affected device? You can update to iOS 13.4.1, if needed, using these steps: How to back up your iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch and Update your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch

If updating doesn't resolve the issue, or if you're already on the latest, it might be helpful to delete and then reinstall the Music app: Delete built-in Apple apps on your iOS 12, iOS 13, or iPadOS device or Apple Watch. When you do this, any offline content will be removed, so you'll need to re-download it after.

I hope that's helpful.

Take care.
