Duplicate episodes on Ipod Classic

Ever since Apple changed the iPod icons, I've had trouble getting my iPod Classic to work properly. Worked great and synced great until the change. Now when I sync with Finder, I'm getting duplicate podcasts on all of them. I get 2 hour 1's, 2 hour 2's, etc. If the podcast is a single episode, I get two of them. Any suggestions on how to fix this?

CarPlay and Podcasts ignores "downloaded" list from iPhone I keep only 3 episodes of my podcasts on my iPhone. I play my podcasts from the Downloaded list, allowing me to play the oldest first and play them in downloaded order. CarPlay in my car has no route to reach the downloaded list. iPod nano is feeding me both podcasts and music at random. Duh? Why is my iPod Nano, recently updated to Catalina, reset to factory settings and synched with my iMac, now mixing indifferently podcasts and music when I click on play"songs"? Didn't APPLE think of making a clear distinction between podcasts and music when it split iTunes into categories? The distinction was efficient and effective before; in my listening experience, before Catalina and the iTunes split, I was choosing to listen either to songs, or to podcasts- not both. Now I do not that option anymore: I am fed both categories at random if I click on play "songs". Is it me, or it a goof on APPLE's part?

Try updating to macOS 10.15.4 to see if it resolves your problem.
