brand new NIKE band not locking in watch

Hello! I've just bought a new apple nike watch series 5; I have a problem with the band, the S/M which is the proper size for me is not 'locking' in the watch, hence I'm using the M/L band instead (which is not practical for me).. It is bought online from an official Apple retail store, since, because of the COVID situation, all physical stores are closed.. What should I do? thanks in advance :)

Hello!

I'm sorry to hear that you are having trouble with your Apple Watch.


Firstly make sure all the mechanisms are working. You can try pushing down on the buttons on the top of each band and see if it moves. If it doesn't, it is possible that that band might have a defect or fault.


Secondly, is the band size the right one for your watch. If you have a 40mm watch then you need a 40 mm band, same with 44mm watch needing a 44mm band. The 40mm band will still fit in the 44mm each but if you push it in from one side it might not click.


Finally, is the band in the watch the right way round? Try both sides of the band and see if it works. You might also need to try pushing it in from both the left and right side of the watch.

Hello! Thanks for the answer!

It is the right band, since it is the one included in the watch's package.. I have no other bands!

Also, it seems that the buttons have no problem at all, they are pressed normally like the other bands..

Im sure I'm trying to put it the right way, as shown in the manual and as I've put the other bands!

It seems that the band is defective.

Should Apple change it, since it is new, or is there sth else that I should do?
